Evidence Action, an international organization delivering data-driven health interventions, is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position below under its Safe Water Now Programme.
Position: Community Service Assistant (CSA)
Location: Machinga & Mangochi Districts, Malawi
Employment Type: Field-based position
Role Summary
The CSA will support the implementation of the In-Line Chlorination (ILC) safe water programme, working closely with communities and local leaders to ensure access to safe drinking water, maintain water treatment devices, and promote good hygiene practices.
Key Responsibilities
Support implementation of programme activities at community level Maintain and service ILC water treatment devices Deliver chlorine supplies to water points using a motorcycle Conduct community awareness on water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) Train community volunteers and local structures on programme use Collect field data using smartphones and support reporting Work with local leaders, Water User Associations, and government extension workers
Requirements
Diploma in Community Development, Social Work, Development Communication, Project Management or related field Minimum 3 years experience working with communities in WASH or development programmes Motorcycle riding experience with a valid riding license (required) Good communication and community facilitation skills Basic computer and data management skills Fluency in English and Chichewa or other local languages Willingness to work in rural communities.
