POSITION: TEMPORARY DEBT COLLECTORS (50 POSITIONS)

Location: Mzuzu

OVERVIEW Mzuzu City Council would like to recruit Temporary Debt Collectors to support regular revenue mobilization activities in various wards and in designated toll gates within the City as follows:

Post: Temporary Debt Collectors (50) Grade: Non Established Period: Six months contract renewable Location: Mzuzu City Wards and Toll Gates Reporting to: Revenue Supervisor

Duties:

Support property registration, valuation and revenue ranging. Conduct door-to-door visits to follow up on overdue payments. Encourage timely payments or recommend enforcement action where necessary. Negotiate payment plans and deadlines with debtors. Document and report queries or complaints related to debtor accounts. Initiate correction of errors in debtor records. Prepare and submit weekly progresS reports Working in all Council revenue stream as may be directed by the Council Handling of customers' enquiries. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualification

A minimum of a Malawi School certificate of Education with credit in English and Mathematics. Those with relevant Tertiary/ Post-secondary Certificate in Accounting, Business Management, Financial Management, Marketing, or related field will have distinct advantage.

Job Specifications

Experience in revenue mobilization. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work independently and meet targets. Patience and ability to manage stress. Good problem-solving skills.
