COMPANY DESCRIPTION EB Consulting (PTY) LTD aka as Evidence Based Solutions (EBS), is a pioneering research organization committed to advancing knowledge and contributing to the betterment of society through rigorous academic and public health studies. We are currently embarking on a significant study across 31 Commonwealth and selected African countries, aiming to collect and analyze data to inform future strategies and policies on Gender-Based Violence and Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights in the Commonwealth and in Africa.
JOB DESCRIPTION We are looking for experienced and proactive Field Work Supervisors (FWS) to join our local data collection teams. As a FWS, you will play a pivotal role in managing the data collection process in your respective country, ensuring the project aligns with its intended objectives. This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful research while engaging with diverse cultures and environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Project Management Support: Ensure that data collection activities meet the study objectives. Inform project staff about timelines, responsibilities, and specifications. Coordination and Oversight: Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of data collection, ensuring all timelines and job requirements are met. Ethics and Permissions: Obtain ethics approval from local institutions and permissions to conduct the study within selected institutions. Ensure all research activities comply with local regulations and ethical standards. Stakeholder Engagement: Actively liaise with local ministries, departments, and other key stakeholders in the country to facilitate smooth operation and collaboration. Team Leadership: Lead and support two field workers, fostering an environment of collaboration and efficiency. Independent Work and Decision Making: Display self-motivation, with the ability to work independently and make critical decisions. Manage multiple tasks efficiently. Suport for translation of Study Questionnaires and documents into local language Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of five years of supervisory experience with field workers and/or teams. Language Skills: Fluent in the local language of the operation country and strong verbal and written English/French communication skills. Educational Background: Significant academic experience, preferably in public health, nursing, research methods, or related fields. Research Experience: Prior experience in public health and academic research is preferred. Data Skills: Proficiency in working with data for reporting purposes will be an advantage. Personal Qualities: Self-motivated, capable of working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Must be able to multitask and make independent decisions. Access to a laptop and ability to use remote internet such as a hotspot. Benefits:
