Communications Fellowship at The Initiative for Transitional Justice in Africa (ITJA)
POSITION: COMMUNICATIONS FELLOW
Duration: 6 months (immediate start)
OVERVIEW
The Initiative for Transitional Justice in Africa (ITJA) seeks a communications fellow to disseminate the project’s work, engage stakeholders, and enhance visibility across Africa and beyond. The fellowship is open exclusively to African nationals.
Scope of Work
- Draft content for ICTJ social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky, X).
- Provide communications support for events (invitations, materials, live posts, press releases).
- Track social media performance metrics.
- Adapt publications into shorter accessible formats and create infographics.
- Support proofreading, formatting, and drafting articles for the website.
- Provide other communications support as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, international relations, or related field (Master’s accepted).
- Strong written and editing skills.
- Familiarity with design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Experience in communications for development, governance, or human rights projects.
- Proficient in English (French, Portuguese, or Arabic is a plus).
