The Industrial Relations Court - IRC handles all labour and employment disputes in Malawi.

REGISTRIES: Blantyre, Lilongwe, Mzuzu, Zomba

WHAT DOES IRC DO?

• Hear and determine labour disputes
• Handle issues relating to employment
• Make rulings under the Labour Relations Act and Employment Act

IMPORTANT TO NOTE:

1. First report your case to the nearest Labour Office. If not resolved, you will get a certificate to take your case to IRC.
2. The Court does NOT handle cases for Malawi Police, Malawi Defence Force, or Malawi Prison Service employees.
3. You can appeal IRC decisions to the High Court within 30 days.
