ACCOUNTANT

ACCOUNTANT – NAMULERI LIMITED

OVERVIEW Namuleri Limited, a Malawian enterprise with interests in clean energy and microfinance, is seeking a qualified Accountant to join our team in Lilongwe.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Record and reconcile financial transactions in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
• Maintain up-to-date records for accounts payable, receivable, and the general ledger.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Manage payroll, statutory returns, and tax submissions (e.g., VAT, PAYE, pension).
• Reconcile bank statements and support cash flow monitoring.
• Coordinate audits and liaise with internal/external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and recommend improvements.
• Assist with donor, project, and operational budgeting and reporting.
• Maintain a proper filing system and support administrative finance tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• At least 3 years’ accounting experience (experience in energy or microfinance preferred).
• Sound knowledge of GAAP, Malawi tax law, and statutory returns.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and financial systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• High integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism.
