Thursday, March 19, 2026ADVERT FOR RECRUITMENT OF IPTE 21 PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHER TRAINEES IN PUBLIC TEACHER TRAINING COLLEGES
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Malawians to undergo a two‑year Initial Primary Teacher Education (IPTE) Course in public Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) under IPTE 21 cohort. The training will be done in a total of six terms within a training structure referred to as 2 IN – 2 OUT – 2 IN. The successful candidates will be in college for the first 2 terms, then go out of college to various primary schools for teaching practice in the subsequent 2 terms, and go back to college for the final two terms of their training.
MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Interested applicants must: i. be holders of a Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent obtained between 2015 and 2020 with a minimum of four credits including English and at least one of the following science subjects: Agriculture, Additional Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Studies, Home Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Physical Science and Science & Technology. Candidates who failed to satisfy the minimum admission requirement but successfully improved their grades after re‑sitting may use their supplementary statements indicating years they obtained the grades. ii. be not more than 35 years of age on the day of application.
