POSITION: CARBON BALANCE VOLUNTEER
Location: Mzuzu
OVERVIEW Temwa is inviting applications from motivated and passionate individuals to join its Carbon Balance Project under the Agriculture and Forestry Program. We are looking for self-driven volunteers who are eager to contribute to climate resilience and sustainable development initiatives in rural communities.
Qualifications and Requirements A minimum of a diploma in Forestry, Environmental Science, Agro ecology, Natural Resource Management, or a related field Basic understanding of climate change, forest management and protection initiatives. Knowledge of project implementation and community development work. Willingness to work in remote and hard-to-reach areas. Ability to ride a motorcycle (with a valid license) will be an added advantage Strong communication and documentation skills
Key Roles and Responsibilities Support planning and implementation of project activities Participate in tree nursery establishment, planting and monitoring Support communities in carrying out forest management activities Assist in project monitoring and documentation Collection of project success stories Any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Note: This is a six-month volunteer position designed for individuals passionate about environmental conservation and climate action. The position is unpaid, but necessary support will be provided to ensure effective performance of duties both in the field and office.
