The organization aims to build resistance and resilience against social injustice, authoritarianism, and the climate crisis. Through a holistic approach, Open Briefing enhances physical safety, digital resilience, and collective wellbeing at all levels of civil society, from grassroots to global.
In response to a 66% surge in demand over the past two years, the organization now responds to over 11 new cases weekly, having supported over 575 calls across 100 countries, delivered 6,000+ hours of mentoring, and trained 1,000+ activists in holistic security workshops.
Role Description The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering emotional health and resilience within communities, movements, and organizations advocating for social justice.
They will provide psychosocial support tailored to the needs of at-risk groups, using decolonized and healing-centered approaches, and assist in designing wellbeing frameworks.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering tailored collective care support and coping strategies Conducting wellbeing risk assessments and developing frameworks Providing remote psychosocial support, including psychological first aid Facilitating workshops, webinars, and training on collective care approaches Advising on community-led wellbeing initiatives and methodologies
Terms and Remuneration This is a remote-first consultancy role, offering long-term collaboration opportunities. Compensation is £73.50/hour for counselling and £52.50/hour for consultancy, including ongoing mentoring, training, and wellbeing support.
The role involves working across various countries and may include occasional meetings outside regular hours, depending on location.
Open Briefing prioritizes staff wellbeing, providing access to individual counselling, peer support, resilience resources, and wellbeing check-ins. Candidates must have or obtain professional indemnity insurance covering remote worldwide work.
