Title: OECD Co-operative Research Programme (CRP) 2027 – International Research Fellowships and Conference Sponsorship Opportunities Organisation: Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Location: OECD Member Countries (International) Closing Date: 10 September 2026 (Midnight, Paris Time) Contract Type: Fellowship and Grant Funding Programme Programme Area: Sustainable Agricultural and Food Systems. The programme aims to strengthen scientific knowledge and generate evidence-based information that informs future policy decisions relating to agriculture, food, fisheries and forestry sustainability. Established in 1979, the programme promotes international scientific collaboration among researchers and institutions while placing a strong policy emphasis on all funded activities. It addresses pressing global challenges, including food security, climate change, and the interconnectedness of economies through trade and scientific cooperation. Applications are invited from individuals interested in organising scientific events or undertaking research fellowships in another OECD CRP member country. Programme Objectives The OECD Co-operative Research Programme seeks to: Strengthen scientific knowledge and innovation in sustainable agriculture and food systems. Facilitate international co-operation among research scientists and institutions. Provide scientific evidence and information to support policymakers in promoting sustainable use of natural resources. Address global challenges such as food security, climate change, and international trade interdependence. Generate research outcomes that benefit people both within and beyond the programme’s member countries. Funding Opportunities Available The 2027 call for applications includes funding for: Individual Research Fellowship Awards Fellowships lasting between 6 and 26 weeks. Opportunities for individual scientists to conduct research in another CRP member country. Support for international scientific collaboration and knowledge exchange. International Conference Sponsorship Funding is available for organising: Conferences Workshops Symposiums The sponsored events should focus on state-of-the-art research issues in: Agriculture Food systems Fisheries Forestry CRP Action Areas The programme funds activities related to three key action areas: 1. Shaping Behaviours for Transformational Action Promoting research and initiatives that encourage behavioural changes necessary for sustainable food and agricultural systems. 2. Strengthening Resilience in the Face of Multiple Risks in a Connected World Supporting research that addresses emerging global risks affecting food systems, agriculture, fisheries, and forestry. 3. Innovating for Sustainable Production and Productivity Encouraging innovations that improve productivity while ensuring the sustainable use of natural resources. How the Programme Achieves Its Objectives Through its fellowships and sponsored events, the programme: Promotes coordination among stakeholders to avoid overlapping or conflicting objectives. Provides objective evidence on the outcomes of different policy approaches and options. Supports the definition of measurable policy objectives. Highlights the links between agriculture and other policy areas, including education, sustainability, and food security. Programme Governance Structure Governing Body The Governing Body comprises representatives from each member country and is responsible for: Approving the programme of work and budget. Selecting fellowships and conferences for funding. Hosting annual forum sessions on various research topics. Scientific Advisory Body The Scientific Advisory Body consists of six eminent scientists with expertise in agricultural research administration. Its responsibilities include: Overseeing the scientific content of the programme. Reviewing funding applications for scientific quality. Making recommendations on funding priorities. National Correspondents Each member country has a National Correspondent responsible for: Promoting the programme among scientists and institutions. Facilitating communication between applicants and the programme. Secretariat Based at OECD headquarters in Paris, the Secretariat manages the day-to-day operations of the programme and serves as the central contact point. Funding The Co-operative Research Programme is funded through financial contributions made by its member countries.
