🌱 VACANCY: TRAINEE CLASSIFIER — TOBACCO COMMISSION

The Tobacco Commission is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Trainee Classifier (Grade TC 7).

📍 Duty Stations: Lilongwe, Mzuzu, Limbe & Kasungu

🔑 Key Responsibilities

• Sample and classify tobacco at the market.
• Identify unwanted materials in tobacco bales.
• Conduct random sampling and stakeholder discussions to support standardised tobacco marketing.
• Conduct outreach and training programmes with tobacco growers.
• Conduct crop assessment surveys.
• Collect tobacco samples for testing by the Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS).
• Train commercial graders.
• Participate in tobacco production activities, including planting, reaping, curing and grading.
• Work with growers on extension services, complaints and marketing matters.

🎓 Qualifications & Experience

Applicants must have:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture or another related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in the tobacco sector.
