Role Overview

The Malawi Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (MANET+), established in 1997, is a membership‑based umbrella organization promoting the rights, dignity, health, and wellbeing of people living with HIV across Malawi. MANET+ seeks an Executive Director to provide overall strategic, programmatic, financial, and operational leadership, reporting to the Board of Directors. The position is based in Lilongwe with periodic travel within Malawi and internationally. Key responsibilities: Strategic Leadership and Governance · Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction · Lead implementation, monitoring, and review of the strategic plan · Support the Board in governance responsibilities · Ensure compliance with policies, legal requirements, and donor regulations Advocacy and Representation · Lead national advocacy efforts for rights, health, and wellbeing of people living with HIV · Represent MANET+ in national, regional, and international forums · Strengthen meaningful involvement of people living with HIV in policy and decision‑making Resource Mobilisation and Partnership Development · Develop and implement sustainable resource mobilisation strategies · Cultivate relationships with government, development partners, donors, and civil society · Lead proposal development, donor engagement, and grant acquisition Programme and Organisational Management · Oversee planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programmes · Ensure sound financial management and stewardship of resources · Lead and supervise staff and consultants · Promote accountability, innovation, learning, and high performance Qualifications and experience: · Master’s Degree in Public Health, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field · Minimum 5–7 years of progressively responsible leadership and management experience in NGO, public health, development, or civil society sector · Demonstrated experience in HIV/AIDS programming, community health, advocacy, human rights, or social development · Proven success in fundraising, donor engagement, and grant management · Strong understanding of Malawi’s HIV response architecture · Experience working with government institutions, development partners, and civil society networks · Strong financial and organizational management capabilities Desirable attributes: · Commitment to equity, inclusion, human rights, and social justice · Strategic thinking, integrity, professionalism, accountability · Ability to inspire and lead diverse teams · Knowledge of regional and global HIV policy frameworks (advantage) Application deadline: 25 June 2026 How to apply: Submit application letter, detailed CV, copies of academic/professional qualifications, and contact details of three traceable referees clearly marked “Application for Executive Director” to: · Email: recruitment@manetplusmw.org (copy to recruitment.manetplusmw@gmail.com) · Postal address: The Board Chairperson, Malawi Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (MANET+), Area 14/40, Lilongwe
