Health Care Without Harm (HCWH) seeks an experienced Food Commitments Manager to join its U.S. team remotely.

Job Title: Food Commitments Manager
Location: Fully Remote within the U.S.
Closing Date: August 25, 2026
Contract: Time-limited, end date September 30, 2027
Salary Range: $71,600 – $82,300 annually
FLSA Status: Exempt

This pivotal role involves managing projects focused on sustainable and equitable food systems within the healthcare sector.

The manager will drive initiatives that promote climate action through food procurement, operational practices, and community impacts, supporting health care organizations in their commitments to sustainability and health equity.

With over 80 staff members worldwide, HCWH collaborates with Practice Greenhealth to deliver sustainability solutions to over 1,700 hospitals and health systems across the U.S. and Canada.

The organization emphasizes ethical leadership and innovative strategies to foster an ecologically sustainable, equitable, and healthy world.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Planning
Develop annual workplans aligned with the organization’s food strategies
Collaborate with teams to implement strategic projects supporting climate and food system goals
Support fundraising efforts and maintain relationships with funders
Uphold organizational values through daily activities
Program Management
Lead projects promoting values-based food purchasing and climate resilience strategies
Build and maintain relationships with food supply chain stakeholders, including distributors, manufacturers, and coalitions
Advise healthcare partners on achieving sustainability goals and troubleshoot barriers
Create educational resources, webinars, and promotional materials

Contribute to content development for reports, blogs, presentations, and conferences
Support organizational initiatives such as awards, international networks, and diversity efforts
Administrative Tasks
Manage contracts, MOUs, and partnerships
Assist in budget planning and grant management
Maintain records and organizational documentation
