People Powered is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Resource Mobilization Director to lead the organization’s next phase of fundraising and resource mobilization.

The successful candidate will develop and implement a global fundraising strategy designed to diversify People Powered’s funding base, strengthen relationships with existing and prospective funders, and establish ambitious partnerships that support both financial sustainability and the organization’s mission.

About the Role
The role will involve building relationships with foundations, governments, multilateral institutions, philanthropic organizations, international organizations and strategic partners across different regions.
Working closely with the Executive Director, Fundraising Manager and senior leadership, the Resource Mobilization Director will identify emerging opportunities, cultivate long-term partnerships, develop funding strategies and strengthen the organization’s position within global philanthropic and institutional funding spaces.
A key component of the position will be helping shift funding and financial power toward participatory democracy organizations in the Global Majority.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Fundraising Leadership
Lead the development and implementation of People Powered’s global fundraising strategy in line with its three-year strategic plan and longer-term goals.
Diversify the organization’s funding portfolio across foundations, governments, multilateral institutions, philanthropy and strategic partners.
Establish fundraising priorities, targets, KPIs and systems that support sustainable growth.
Identify opportunities for collaborative fundraising, consortium bids, joint initiatives and strategic partnerships.
Monitor global and regional philanthropy trends and identify emerging funding opportunities.
Represent People Powered in strategic external engagements, conferences and funder spaces.
Build relationships that strengthen organizational visibility and create long-term funding opportunities.
Align fundraising activities with organizational strategy through close collaboration with senior leadership.
Institutional Fundraising
Build and steward long-term relationships with major institutional funders and philanthropic partners in the United States, Europe and other regions.
Lead cultivation strategies aimed at securing significant multi-year grants and strategic partnerships.
Oversee competitive proposals, concept notes and donor reports.
Ensure funding proposals respond to donor priorities while remaining aligned with People Powered’s mission.
Lead the development of fundable programs and strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal teams.
Strengthen grant management, fundraising pipeline and donor stewardship systems.
Fundraising Capacity Building
Support People Powered members to access fundraising opportunities and develop joint funding initiatives.
Create practical tools and processes to strengthen fundraising across staff and membership.
Deliver fundraising learning sessions and workshops.
Coach colleagues and help establish a culture where fundraising is viewed as a shared organizational responsibility.
Strengthen the fundraising capabilities of organizations within the participatory democracy ecosystem.
Fundraising Management
Develop and manage fundraising budgets, forecasts and performance reporting.
Improve collaborative fundraising processes involving consortia, partnerships and strategic alliances.
Monitor fundraising performance against organizational objectives and recommend adjustments.
Improve grant management, reporting and tracking systems.
Manage fundraising staff, systems, consultants and external partnerships as required.
Contribute to organizational planning, decision-making and culture as a member of the senior leadership team.
Salary and Benefits
The salary range is USD $92,000–$109,000 per year, with compensation adjusted according to local cost of living.
The advertised range applies to locations with the highest global cost of living and may vary depending on the candidate’s country and city, experience and additional skills, including language capabilities.

Working Arrangement
This is a fully remote, full-time position based on a 40-hour working week.

The anticipated start date is October–November 2026, although the organization can be flexible for the right candidate.

People Powered uses a hiring committee of at least three people for each advertised position and a two-stage interview process.
A take-home assignment is usually included before the second-stage interview, with a small stipend provided to compensate applicants for the time spent completing it.

People Powered is seeking a senior fundraising professional with substantial experience mobilizing resources for international nonprofit organizations, global social movements, alliances, networks or member-led organizations.
The ideal candidate will be an effective relationship builder who can identify opportunities before they become formal funding calls, establish trusted partnerships and position organizations for long-term success.

A proven ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders through alliances, consortia, strategic initiatives and joint funding partnerships.
Demonstrated success securing and managing six- to seven-figure USD/EUR and multi-year institutional grants.
Experience working with US and international foundations, governments or multilateral donors.
Strong relationships with US and international funders and the ability to cultivate new funding partnerships.
Experience developing and implementing multi-year organizational fundraising strategies.
Experience building organizational fundraising capacity and coaching colleagues or partners.
Strong financial planning, budgeting and project management skills.
Experience managing or supervising staff or teams.
Excellent relationship management, negotiation and communication skills.
Professional fluency in English.

Desirable Skills and Experience
