HAB Fellowship supports researchers who need intensive access to the Herzog August Bibliothek's medieval, early-modern, and historical collections. The HAB Fellowship offers Post-doc and Short-term formats with monthly stipends and travel support to enable focused source research.
SUMMARY

BENEFITS
Post-doc Fellowship:
👉 €2,200/month for 6–10 months
👉 Travel reimbursement up to €2,000
👉 Family supplement: €300 (one child), €400 (two children), €500 (three+ children)
Short-term Fellowship:
👉 €1,800/month for 1–3 months
👉 Travel subsidy €150–€650 (depending on origin)

ELIGIBILITY
👉 For Post-doc Fellowships: Be within 6 years of PhD award (PhD awarded in 2021 or later for 2027 applications)
👉 For Short-term Fellowships: Be post-docs through emeriti scholars needing focused source research
👉 Demonstrate that the project requires HAB's historical holdings
👉 International applicants are eligible
