Hasso-Plattner Institute (HPI) & University of Cape Town
Description: The Hasso-Plattner Institute and University of Cape Town Digital Health Partnership annually grants PhD and Postdoctoral fellowships to qualifying students from across the African continent working in digital health, through the School of Information Technology and the School of Public Health. Successful candidates will join a growing network of HPI-UCT scholars conducting original research at the intersection of health, technology, AI and data science.
Experience & Qualifications: PhD applicants should hold a master's degree supported by a good dissertation; postdoctoral applicants should hold a doctoral degree, in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a core public health area such as Epidemiology, Biostatistics or Health Systems. Funding covers tuition and registration fees, a bursary of ZAR 262,200 per year for PhD students or ZAR 300,000–380,000 for postdoctoral fellows, plus equipment and conference travel allowances.
