About the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB)
The Berlin Social Science Center (WZB) is a publicly funded institution dedicated to problem-oriented basic social science research.

As a member of the Leibniz Association, WZB provides a dynamic academic environment for researchers across sociology, political science, economics, and law.

Fellowship Details
The successful Kohli Fellow will:

Conduct a research project during a 24-month academic stay at WZB.
Work within a leading European social science research environment.
Advance research publications and academic outputs.
Build collaborations with international researchers and institutions.
The research fellowship will begin on 1 October 2027, and physical attendance in Berlin is required throughout the fellowship period.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:

Have completed a doctoral dissertation in sociology with excellent results.
Have completed their dissertation no more than five years before the application deadline.
Demonstrate strong research potential and academic excellence.
Present a high-quality research proposal suitable for the fellowship period.

Research Hosting Restrictions
Applicants should note that the following WZB research units are not available to host a Kohli Fellow:
