Main Duties and Responsibilities:1. Teach Latin, Greek, and Classical Civilisation to students in Years 7 to 11. 2. Plan and deliver well-structured, appropriately challenging lessons for all students. 3. Plan and deliver engaging lessons that motivate and support students in a compulsory subject. 4. Track, monitor, and support student progress, with a clear focus on raising attainment. 5. Maintain clear and consistent expectations for behaviour and engagement in the classroom. 6. Contribute to the development and refinement of schemes of work across the department. 7. Produce and share high-quality teaching resources to support student learning. 8. Set and mark prep regularly, in line with school and departmental expectations. 9. Support students with Individual Learning Plans through appropriate differentiation. 10. Contribute to a broad and balanced curriculum, including collaboration with other departments where appropriate, and the potential development of Classical Civilisation at AS and A Level. 11. Engage with professional development and actively seek to improve classroom practice. 12. Contribute to the wider life of the school, including the co-curricular programme.
A degree in Classics or a closely related subject. Sound subject knowledge of Latin to IGCSE level and Greek to ICCG level.
