POSITION: AUDITOR – IT/IS & FORENSIC AUDIT

About National Audit Office The National Audit Office (NAO) is a Supreme Audit Institution established under the Constitution of the Republic of Malawi and the Public Audit Act. It provides independent assurance to Parliament and the public on the management of public resources to promote transparency, accountability, and good governance.

JOB OVERVIEW The Auditor – IT/IS & Forensic Audit will be responsible for conducting IT systems and forensic audits to ensure compliance, security, and efficiency in public institutions.

The Role You will assess IT risks, evaluate system controls, and conduct forensic audits to detect irregularities and improve accountability.

Key Responsibilities • Assess risks related to IT systems, data security, and processes • Develop audit plans outlining scope, objectives, and procedures • Evaluate effectiveness of IT controls • Verify compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies • Assess adequacy of IT security measures • Analyse IT systems, logs, and audit trails • Perform audit tests and procedures

Qualifications and Experience • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Security, Management Information Systems, Accountancy, Finance, Forensic Auditing, or Auditing • Knowledge of computer-assisted audit tools • Understanding of anti-fraud laws, evidence handling, and court procedures • Ability to analyse financial data and identify trends and anomalies
