Job Summary The GEF Project Design Specialist will support FAO’s climate and biodiversity projects in the Caribbean, focusing on project development, stakeholder engagement, and resource mobilization aligned with GEF priorities.
Key Responsibilities Guide project design and proposal development. Ensure compliance with GEF policies. Facilitate stakeholder consultations. Support resource mobilization efforts. Monitor project implementation and impact.
Qualifications Degree in environmental sciences or related fields. At least 5 years’ experience in project development and environmental finance. Knowledge of GEF procedures. Experience working with multi-stakeholder projects.

Advance degree from an institution recognized by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/UNESCO in agriculture, livestock production, aquaculture production, environmental science or any other related field with at least 5 years relevant experience in agriculture production; or Bachelor degree from an institution recognized by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/UNESCO in in agriculture, livestock production, aquaculture production, environmental science or any other related field with at least 7 years of relevant experience in agricultural production Working knowledge of English
