POSITION: CLINIC NURSE (3 POSITIONS)
Location: Mzuzu, Lilongwe, and Blantyre
OVERVIEW Malawi AIDS Counselling and Resource Organization (MACRO) is a locally registered nongovernmental organization (NGO) established in 1995 to complement Government’s efforts in in the fight against HIV and AIDS and other health related issues.
MACRO’s Vision is “Malawi populace free of ill-Health” and its Mission is “Transform lives of Malawians through provision of high-quality HIV and AIDS, and other health related services”.
With funding from CDC, MACRO is implementing the IMPACT Project whose purpose is: To strengthen effective measures to address unmet needs for HTS in the CDC supported districts towards the attainment of 95-95-95 goals.
MACRO invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant position under IMPACT Project
Job Title: Clinic Nurse (3)
Reports to: Clinic Incharge
Location: Mzuzu, Lilongwe, and Blantyre
About the Role: The Clinic Nurse is responsible for delivering quality clinical, psychosocial, and preventative care to clients. This includes HIV/AIDS care, STI and family planning services, ART adherence support, viral load monitoring, and defaulter tracing, ensuring client-centered and confidential service delivery.
The list below is not exhaustive as such, the successful candidate will be required to perform duties as required. Education Qualifications Knowledge and Skills Diploma in Nursing (5 years’ experience) or Degree in Nursing (3 years’ experience). Certified in HIV/AIDS management, PrEP, TB, cervical cancer screening, and ART guidelines. Registration with the Nurses Council of Malawi. Strong planning and time management skills. Excellent communication and counseling skills. Knowledge of ART management and infection prevention. Experience in quality improvement and defaulter tracing. Strong familiarity with Ministry of Health (MoH) systems, policies, and procedures Strategic leadership and mentoring capacity, able to inspire, coach, and build the skills of multidisciplinary teams Key Duties Mode of Application Provide HIV, STI, and family planning counseling. Lead health education sessions. Monitor ART service quality and follow up on unsuppressed clients. Manage ART commodities and medical supplies. Represent MACRO in stakeholder forums.
