Atlantic Salmon Federation Job Summary Job Title: Communications Officer Location: Remote, Canada (Hybrid or In-office in NB/NS/NL/QC) Closing Date: July 3, 2026 Start Date: Preferred August 2026 Contract Type: Full-time About Atlantic Salmon Federation The Atlantic Salmon Federation (ASF) is a renowned international conservation organization established in 1948, dedicated to conserving and restoring wild Atlantic salmon and their ecosystems across North America. Headquartered in St. Andrews, New Brunswick, with offices in Maine, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada, ASF employs over 50 professionals and engages a network of more than 10,000 members and volunteers. ASF is a leading authority in wild Atlantic salmon conservation. Role Overview The Communications Officer will play a key role in enhancing ASF’s outreach efforts through content creation, social media management, website support, and digital communication strategies. This position aims to increase public awareness, expand audience engagement, and ensure consistent, effective messaging across multiple platforms. The successful candidate will support daily communications activities, enabling the team to operate efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities and Duties Assist with planning, creating, scheduling, and monitoring social media content across platforms Engage with audiences by monitoring social media interactions and responding to comments and messages Draft, edit, and publish content including blog posts, website updates, newsletters, and email campaigns Develop graphic assets and digital content for various campaigns Maintain and update website content Support communications for events, fundraising initiatives, and organizational campaigns Collect, organize, and edit photos and videos for digital use Track and report on communication metrics and engagement analytics Assist with administrative tasks related to communication projects and campaigns Skills, Knowledge, and Competencies Strong digital literacy with a solid understanding of social media platforms, content creation, SEO, and marketing best practices Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail Creative mindset with the ability to develop engaging visual and written content Ability to navigate organizational structures and foster external partnerships Self-motivated and able to work independently or collaboratively Committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; graphic design skills are an asset. Compensation and Benefits Atlantic Salmon Federation offers a competitive salary range of $56,000 – $84,000, commensurate with experience, along with benefits including RRSP contributions, vacation pay, sick leave, and health/dental insurance.
