IOM Malawi is recruiting a National Media and Communications Officer to coordinate and implement media and communications activities in the Lilongwe country office. Working under the supervision of the Chief of Mission and the National Programme Officer, the successful candidate will manage IOM's public information needs, support donor visibility, and report on projects and programmes across Malawi. The role involves producing multimedia content, coordinating with regional and HQ communications teams, and responding to media and public enquiries. Key responsibilities include planning and implementing visibility and communication activities, drafting information materials including pamphlets, brochures, newsletters, and multimedia content, supporting reporting and dissemination of project activities to IOM HQ and the Regional Office in Pretoria, and responding to press and public queries.
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Public Relations, or a related field. Relevant experience in media or communications work. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital communications tools. Experience with newsletter production or digital communications is an asset. UN or NGO experience is an advantage.
