Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships 2027 — Fully Funded Research & Postgraduate Study in Switzerland

Applications for the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships open on 20 August 2026. Each year the Swiss Confederation awards Government Excellence Scholarships to encourage international exchange and research cooperation between Switzerland and over 180 other countries. Switzerland is home to some of the world's top universities including ETH Zurich, EPFL and the universities of Zurich, Geneva and Bern. This scholarship gives exceptional Malawian scholars the opportunity to conduct research or pursue postgraduate studies in one of the world's most innovative and academically distinguished countries. The scholarship covers: full tuition fees, monthly living stipend (approximately CHF 1,920), accommodation support, health insurance, and round-trip airfare. Type: Fully Funded Research / Postgraduate Scholarship — Switzerland Experience & Qualifications: Open to citizens of eligible countries including Malawi. Must hold a Master's degree or equivalent for PhD/research scholarships. Must have a strong academic record and clear research or study plan.
