The successful candidate will support the coordination, monitoring, and implementation of resource mobilization plans to enhance programme funding, strengthen partnerships, improve coordination, and ensure compliance with established standards.

This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) programmes while supporting sustainable financing initiatives across AU Member States.

Purpose of the Job
The Junior Program Officer will support the coordination, implementation, and monitoring of resource mobilization plans to ensure alignment, coherence, and compliance with agreed standards.

The role contributes to improving coordination mechanisms, preventing duplication of efforts, strengthening partnerships, and enhancing sustainable programme funding.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Resource Mobilization Coordination
Monitor and track the implementation of resource mobilization work plans.
Prepare reports on progress and performance against established plans.
Support the review and continuous improvement of resource mobilization frameworks.
Document resource mobilization initiatives and best practices.
Planning and Monitoring Support
Follow up on the development and updating of resource mobilization plans across programmes.
Organize meetings to facilitate coordination of resource mobilization activities.
Work closely with monitoring and evaluation teams to ensure implementation aligns with approved standards.
Provide guidance on plan development and implementation processes.

Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination
Facilitate information sharing and coordination among departments and programmes.
Identify and help eliminate duplication in resource mobilization efforts.

Maintain effective working relationships across departments and stakeholders.
Promote coordinated approaches to programme funding support.
Capacity Building
Support capacity-building initiatives for State Parties in resource mobilization.
Contribute to structured financing dialogues and funding discussions.
Assist in strengthening institutional resource mobilization capabilities.
Additional Responsibilities
Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor or Director.

Contract Duration
The appointment will be on a fixed-term contract for a period of one (1) or two (2) years.

The first six (6) months will serve as a probationary period. Subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds, the contract may be renewed up to two additional times.

Salary and Benefits
The remuneration package for this position includes:

US$77,425.50 per year (P1 Step 5) inclusive of all allowances for internationally recruited staff.
US$59,805.19 per year inclusive of all allowances for locally recruited staff at the AfCFTA Secretariat.

Minimum Qualifications

A University Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Economics, Statistics, Development Studies, Demography, Public Finance, or a related discipline.
A minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional work experience.
