Role Overview

The Malawi Health Equity Network (MHEN), a network of civil society organisations working to promote equitable access to quality health services, is recruiting a Community Mobilisation Officer. The role involves mobilising communities to participate in health advocacy, accountability and service delivery improvement initiatives across assigned districts.
Key responsibilities include facilitating community dialogues and awareness sessions on health rights and services, training and supporting community health advocates and volunteers, documenting and reporting community health issues to relevant authorities, liaising with health facility management committees and community structures, supporting data collection for health monitoring and advocacy activities, and preparing regular field reports and activity updates.

Qualifications

Experience & Qualifications: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Community Development, Social Sciences or a related field. Minimum 2 years experience in community mobilisation or health advocacy work. Strong communication and facilitation skills in English and Chichewa. Willingness to work in rural field settings and travel to districts. Experience working with community structures including HSAs and Health Centre Management Committees is an advantage. Motorcycle riding skills and valid licence is a plus.
