Role Overview

A leading private company in Malawi is recruiting an IT HelpDesk Officer to provide first-line technical support to staff and ensure smooth IT operations across the organisation. Reporting to the Head of IT, the successful candidate will be the first point of contact for all IT-related issues and will play a key role in maintaining system uptime, user satisfaction and technical efficiency. Key responsibilities include: Serve as first point of contact for all IT support requests from staff Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and network issues promptly Log, track and escalate IT support tickets using the helpdesk system Install, configure and maintain computers, printers and peripheral devices Support onboarding of new staff with IT setup and access provisioning Maintain IT asset inventory and ensure proper documentation Assist the IT team with system updates, patches and routine maintenance

Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field Experience in IT support, helpdesk or technical assistance roles Knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office 365 Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+, ITIL) are an added advantage
