Role Overview
Mthandizi is building a digital ecosystem for Malawi, connecting people to opportunities, businesses, products, organization services, and practical AI tools through web, WhatsApp, and intelligent dashboards.
We are looking for a Social Media & Community Growth Manager to help people understand, trust, and use Mthandizi. This is a hands-on growth, content, and community role for someone who can explain technology in a simple way, create engaging content, appear on camera, talk to users, and help grow the Mthandizi community.
What You’ll Do
- Plan and create engaging content, including short videos, reels, posts, and simple graphics for TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and other platforms.
- Appear on camera to explain Mthandizi’s features in a simple, friendly way, in English and Chichewa.
- Grow and engage the Mthandizi community by replying to comments and messages, starting conversations, and building a consistent posting rhythm.
- Turn product updates, such as jobs, the WhatsApp assistant, business tools, and new platform features, into content people actually want to watch and share.
- Collect user stories and testimonials that show how Mthandizi helps real Malawians.
- Run simple campaigns, track what works using basic analytics, and improve content over time.
- Work closely with the team to make new features easy to understand for everyday users.
Who We’re Looking For
You are a natural communicator who can make technology feel simple and human. You are confident on camera, understand how Malawians use social media, and can manage a content calendar without being micromanaged. You care about quality, move fast, and enjoy helping people understand useful digital tools.

Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience creating social media content, or a strong portfolio that clearly proves the skill. Formal experience can be flexible for the right creator.
- Confident on camera and able to communicate clearly in both English and Chichewa.
- Able to produce short-form video from start to finish, including shooting and basic editing using a phone or tools like CapCut, Canva, or similar apps.
- Strong understanding of Malawian audiences and the platforms they use, including TikTok, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram.
- Self-starter who can manage a content calendar, stay organized, and maintain a consistent posting schedule.
- Simple, engaging writing style, with the ability to explain a product in one or two clear sentences.
Bonus, Not Required
- Basic graphic design skills, especially using Canva.
- Comfortable reading basic analytics such as reach, views, engagement, and clicks.
- Experience growing a social media page, brand, or community from scratch.
- Genuine interest in technology, AI, startups, or digital tools that help people.
