VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT@ UbuntuNet Alliance POSITION: SYSTEMS ENGINEER Location: Lilongwe OVERVIEW UbuntuNet Alliance is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support the development and operation of advanced digital services for research and education networks across Eastern and Southern Africa. The role involves enterprise systems administration, cloud infrastructure management, e-infrastructure service delivery, technical support, and collaboration with regional and international partners. Candidates should have strong experience with Linux and Windows systems, OpenStack and Proxmox environments, systems security, and programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript. A minimum of five years’ relevant experience and a degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field is required. UbuntuNet Alliance is registered as a Trust in Malawi and operates as a not-for-profit business entity, providing connectivity and other value-added services to member National Research and Education Networks across the Eastern and Southern Africa. It also manages projects supported by development partners, especially the European Union. Applications are invited from Eastern and Southern Africa countries.
