Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program 2027

The University of Pretoria, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, offers scholarships and wraparound support to high-achieving young Africans pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate (Honours and Master's) degrees. The programme targets academically talented young Africans facing economic and social barriers and offers comprehensive financial support, leadership development, mentorship and community engagement opportunities.
Experience & Qualifications: The programme is aimed at African youth facing significant socio-economic challenges, including refugees, internally displaced persons and individuals with disabilities. Applicants must exhibit leadership qualities and a commitment to community service, and demonstrate outstanding academic performance. Applicants must first apply for and be accepted into an eligible programme at the University of Pretoria before being considered for the scholarship itself.
