POSITION: PRINCIPAL PLANNING OFFICER

OVERVIEW

The Local Government Service Commission invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill vacant Principal Planning Officer positions in various District Councils.

GRADE: G/M4

SALARY: Within the range of Grade G salary segment

JOB TYPE: Full Time

POSITION: PRINCIPAL PLANNING OFFICER

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Academic, Professional Qualifications and Experience:

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Be serving Planning Officers (Grade I/M6), Monitoring and Evaluation Officers (Grade I/M6), or Economists (Grade I/M6).

Have a minimum of four (4) years of experience at the relevant grade in local authorities.

Hold a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences (Economics), Development Studies, Physical Planning, or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Maintaining and managing the Council's data bank.

Preparing project reports.

Preparing quarterly and semi-annual output-based reports.

Monitoring the performance and progress of Council projects.

Serving as Secretary to the Council Data Coordination Committee.
