Role Overview

Agro-Input Suppliers Limited is seeking a qualified and experienced Field Officer to join our team. The Field Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Lilongwe, responsible for supporting farmers, agro-dealers, and partners in the effective use of the company's soil testing service, inoculants, and post-harvest storage products. Role Overview: The role involves conducting field visits, demonstrations, and trainings to promote best agronomic practices for legumes and proper use of hermetic storage and related technologies. The Field Officer will collect field data, monitor product performance, and provide regular reports on farmer adoption, challenges, and market trends. This role also includes coordinating with sales and technical teams, organizing field days and community outreach activities, and offering feedback to improve products and services. The position requires frequent travel within assigned areas and close interaction with diverse stakeholders, including smallholder farmers, cooperatives, NGOs, and government extension officers. Qualifications

Strong field-based agricultural skills, including experience with legume crops (soybean, groundnut, beans) and familiarity with seeds, inoculants, and post-harvest handling   Knowledge of farmer training and extension methodologies, including demonstration plot management, field days, and group facilitation   Competence in basic data collection, record-keeping, and monitoring of field activities using paper-based tools and digital applications   Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and support diverse farmer groups and local partners   Self-motivation, reliability, and the ability to work independently in the field while collaborating with a broader team   Bachelor's degree or a minimum of a diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agribusiness, Extension, Soil Science, Crop Science, or a related field   Previous experience with a minimum of 1 year in a field officer, extension, or similar role in the agriculture sector is highly desirable   Must be based in Lilongwe, preferably areas close to Kanengo Proficiency in English and local languages, and willingness to travel frequently within Lilongwe and surrounding regions A valid motorbike license is an added advantage
