*THE PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN MAKERERE UNIVERSITY AND THE MASTERCARD FOUNDATION* Mastercard Foundation partnered with Makerere University to offer scholarships to academically talented but financially constrained youth from Africa to pursue their University Education at Makerere University. The Partnership started in 2013 to 2024 for Phase I, and extends over the period 2024-2034 for Phase 2 of the Scholars Program at Makerere University. The Goal: To educate and Empower the next Generation of African Leaders The Mission: To enable Academically Talented but economically disadvantaged youth to attain quality university education at Makerere University.
