POSITION: SUBSTATIONS ERECTORS (8 POSITIONS)

Location : Various

Grade : ES12

Purpose of the Job To carry out maintenance of high voltage transformers and ancillary equipment to ensure smooth operations and minimal system faults.

Roles and Responsibilities Carry out installation of high voltage equipment

Identify defects and clear faults within substations

Comply with safety standards and operational procedures at all times

Conduct switchyard weed management and general housekeeping

Carry out transformer testing activities

Attributes and Competencies

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Physically fit

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) plus General Fitting Certificate

At least 1 year relevant work experience in the power industry or related field

Note

Selected candidates will undergo 6 months training and sit for the Power Linesperson Certificate Examination

Only candidates who pass the examination will be appointed to a substantive position

Those who do not pass will be released
