POSITION: ICT TECHNICIAN (NETWORKS)

OVERVIEW ESCOM Ltd invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions within the organization.

ICT TECHNICIAN (NETWORKS) Grade: ES10

Location: Regional Office (North)

Reports To: ICT Officer (Network Engineering) Purpose of the Job To build and maintain the day-to-day operations of computer networks that support corporate services. This includes intranet, extranet, LAN, WLAN, and WAN environments. Key Duties and Responsibilities Assist in developing, operating, and maintaining voice, video, and data communication systems. Participate in setup, configuration, and testing of core network devices. Manage enterprise systems such as Linux, Windows, databases, and voice gateways. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues. Schedule upgrades and collaborate on network optimization. Investigate faults in local and wide area networks. Secure network systems through enforcement of policies. Monitor access and ensure compliance with ICT policies. Support network operations and maintain system stability. Upgrade network equipment firmware where necessary. Provide remote support to on-site engineers and customers. Monitor devices, servers, and services using management tools. Work with project managers and service desk teams regularly. Engage with internal clients to define system requirements and solutions. Minimum Qualifications and Experience Diploma in Information Communication Technology, Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field. Relevant work experience is an added advantage.
