POSITION: OUTREACH OFFICER (2 POSITIONS)

Location : Lilongwe & Mzuzu

Grade : ES7 Closing Date : 10 April 2026

Purpose of the Job To support the development and implementation of the Corporation’s outreach strategy and carry out outreach activities.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in developing and implementing outreach strategies to increase awareness of ESCOM services and projects

Support the Senior Outreach Officer in implementing outreach initiatives including vandalism, safety, and wayleave awareness campaigns

Assist in coordinating community events, workshops, and presentations

Support monitoring and evaluation of outreach activities and recommend improvements

Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in outreach and community engagement

Track and report outreach metrics such as reach, engagement, and impact

Attributes and Competencies

Strong writing and editing skills

Excellent verbal communication and public speaking skills

Experience in media relations and crisis communication

Ability to work independently and in a team

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms

Ability to multitask and meet deadlines

Knowledge of the energy sector is an added advantage

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Communications, or Marketing

Minimum of 3 years experience in public relations or communications

Professional membership with Public Relations Society of Malawi (PRSM)
